Fruit from the New Temple: How Jesus Brings Life to God’s People
Matthew 21:18-46 What temples serve as outside evidence of your inside priorities? 1. The Old Covenant Law brings curse. Deut. 11:26-29; Jer. 11:7-8; Ezek. 18:2-4 Gal. 4:4-5; Gal. 3:10-14 What is the purpose of the law, therefore, if it can’t lead us to salvation and, especially, if God knew that was the case of the very beginning? 2. It is not possible for you to receive mercy that you believe you don’t need! Rom. 7:7; Rom. 5:20-21 3. Christ the curse-bearer is a right judge. 4. If your goal is to do miracles, you won’t have any. 5. Persist in the prayer of faith. 6. The truth about God is never determined by popular opinion. Whether the winds are against us or at our backs, our Northstar is always God’s word. 7. The Kingdom of God has repentant rebels. 8. The testing of fruit breaks empty-headed talkers. Because everything turns on Christ, don’t turn away from him.
