“Why Should I Grow? How Do I Grow?”
Colossians 1:9-12 1. Thanksgivings and requests for us from others pave the path. -Are you living a life that keeps you close enough to the family of God that it is not only possible but probable that this pattern will apply? -You were saved as an individual, but not to an individual salvation. Presence is part of the point. 2. Knowledge of God is key for Christian growth! 3. Walk worthily. 4. You will please God, produce, fruit, and grow in knowledge. 2Cor. 3:18; 1 John 3:2 5. From supernatural and surprising natural sources, God will strengthen you. 6. In Christ, we endure with joy, not for it. If thanks starts, the knowledge cycle, which ends in strength, and strength creates joyful strength, then the cycle never ends! Thanksgiving is the powerful, unstoppable expression of the joyful heart to its source of strength. Why should you grow? Not so that the Father can qualify you but because the Father has qualified you.
