Through the Gate of a Cornfield: How to Receive Grace
Matthew 19:27-20:16 1. The kingdom of Christ is not only more valuable than everything else, it also sets a new system of evaluation for everything else. 2. One of the kingdom’s great gifts is the ability to see true value. Rev. 21:1-4 3a. The newness of the New World gives hope. 3b. This new value is found in the context of judgment. 4. The kingdom of heaven requires so much of our own loyalty that it could separate people within houses. We should not choose temporal unity with other men and women and receive eternal separation from our God and Savior Jesus Christ. “I have been done wrong.” Employees have wages; adoptees have Grace. -The heart that doesn’t want the “late” people or the far-off people “equal with me” is not a Christ-like heart. -Grace makes people equal in the love of God! 5. Grace has one level. This text gives us a unique way to think about Grace: Jesus’s generosity to the last ones.
