Psalm 46
1. God is the outside shelter and the inside energy needed for your life.
2. God is near to you.
Ezer:
Your head and your heart should match:
-do not fear (heart)
-because of who God is and how he is towards you (head).
3. The worst worldwide catastrophe would not destroy the shelter nor steal the strength.
4 steps in a “practice of peace”:
-Consider the worst possible outcome in any situation;
-Conjure up the many ways God could rescue you.
-Commit it to him in prayer, and
-Consider all the options safe.
4. God's sources flow forever.
The river symbolizes the supply God gives to his people and the supply that God is to his people
5. God will help his people at just the right time as a fortress in the raging world.
6. The changing tides and shifting sands of the world display the glorious works of God.
There is a peculiar, heart-shaking glory to the scenes of waste and pain when God desolates evil schemes.
7. Your greatest human purpose is to rejoice forever in the works of God.
