God Is Not Done With You; Never Be “Done With” God

Job 2 God is always in charge of his “messengers.” 1. God’s glory through his children is maximized when they resist the Devil. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” -James 4:7 2. Expect Satan to “double down.” 3. Your life always matters truly but never ultimately. Defeat the devil’s skin-for-skin lie. 4. You have good reasons to repeat, “God is still in control.” 5. God preserves your life, and God is all that you will never lose. -What is closest to Job betrays his confidence. This text is not intended to inspire hatred of her but holy fear in us. What kind of groom gently cares for his bride in his worst moment? -Bad words are answered with good words. -Words are not violence—nowhere in the Bible are words “violence.” -Job answers not with sweeping pronouncements about her heart or hatred but corrects an action, in this case the action of counseling despair. 6. Be more complete and complex in how your think about the good you get from God.
