Proverbs: Life and Death
1. Life is a journey, but its roads have tolls and checkpoints.
(10:2, 11:3-8, 11:18-19).
Each choice has mental results that help produce the next choice.
Be mindful of the things you do every day, for that is who you are.
2 Cor. 2:16
2. Death helps you think about life
Death gives depth perception.
(16:7-8, 16:22, 18:21, 19:16, 19:23, 28:18, 29:6, 14:12)
After the fall into sin, we humans have a taste both for life and for death. (24:13-14).
3. More Christ = More Life
(12:28, 14:27, 13:14-15, 13:21, 14:14, 14:22, 14:27, 14:32).
4. Speak the gospel this week; speak life.
Prov. 15:4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
Prov. 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
