Where Y’all Headin’: All of Life to the Glory of Christ
Colossians 3:17 1. All things matter to God (whatever you do). vocatio:Calling 2. Remember that words are deeds too. “If the name of Jesus can get behind this, then I want to get the name of Jesus in front of this.” John Woodhouse divides the section: -The scope of the Christian life. -The Lord of the Christian life. -The manner of the Christian life. 3. Adorn things and adore God with thanks. Familiarity is obviously not immoral, but, if we are not careful, familiarity will kill thankfulness. A Biblical Theology of Glory “There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal.” -C.S. Lewis in “The Weight of Glory” 4. Christ is the way to the Father—even in daily life. -The name of God is good news in the Old Testament (Ps. 23:3; 25:11). -The name of Jesus specifies Good news in the New (Acts 4:12). -As we live in the church age for the glory of Christ, we expand the reach of the good news and the extent of his rule.
