Romans 8:5-8
1. The spiritual life has to do with your mindset.
Some want to check the mind at the door and engage in vague spiritual practices; instead, life in Christ incorporates the mindset as the front door into your deepest habits and beliefs.

Phronema = the mindset created by the action of thinking
-mind and Spirit
What are “the things of the Spirit”?
2. The spiritual life is entirely opposed to death, the fleshly life to God.
You will get more of what you are—every day.
3. Submission and hostility are a process that becomes permanent.
Cannot submit to the law / “it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11:6)

4. Submission to the law always had to come from a heart that the law could not make.
