1 Samuel 2:1-10
1. With your whole person, trust your whole person to the saving God.
2. God only will prove steadfast and durable across your lifespan.
3. Boast not in your ability to "change your status," but in his.
"change your status" = "present yourself vindicated"
-Don't claim such a high status for yourself, it tends only to destruction.
-Proud words claim the power to judge.
-Yet our weapons would embarrass us.
4. Natural identity guarantees no security.
a. Whether wealth includes feasting or fertility, it prbides no salvation.
If trusted, this wealth "flips your fate"
b. Since he is the creator of life's mystery and creator of earth's foundation, how could you not trust him to lift you up?
c. The one who trusts in his or her own sheer might cannot help but resist the hop of "God's Messiah."
