Gloria!: The Highs and Lows of Christmas in the Song of the Angels

Luke 2:1-18 What kind of greatness do you want to join? 1. You won't feel Christmas's peace if you have not yet known, its weight. "They feared great fear." -Being afraid is the right response to the "surrounding" of the angels and the "flashing" of the glory of the Lord. -Being unafraid and at peace is the right response to the good message of the angels. 2. God's promises are rooted in the people in places he specified. 3. God's promises are rooted deep in history, and reach wide to outsiders. Some of the most surprising words in the Angels announcement: "unto you." All men and women should hear: Jesus was born for you. 4. God's glory gives us peace; our peace gives God glory. We were made to receive God's glory be sending it back. 5. God grants goodwill. "Among men of good pleasure." Eudokia - Greek - A good pleasure, a desire, creative or inventive.
