Romans 6:15-23 Verse 15: an attitude. Hate sin. Verse 16: a habit. Obedience to righteousness. Verse 17: an affection. The heart begins to meet God’s laws. “type/pattern of teaching” : Theological Overlook: “The Third Use of the Law” -Good news and bad: No matter your state in life, you will continue to present yourself as the slave ready for work. -The secret is not you in different circumstances, but Christ in you. 1. True freedom comes from serving the right master. -Everyone is a slave to something. -To what are you willing to commit yourself? -What is the outcome of your “slaveries”? 2. Never “settle” spiritually. Always want more of Christ. -Shame’s purpose is to reveal true guilt. 3. Sin will take you on a ride that you do not like. Do you enjoy the Christian life? Enjoying the “end“ means enjoying the process. 4. Don’t work for a wage. Work for God’s free gift.
