Elijah and John: Turning Hearts Home
Malachi 4 1. Look at … a day? The “Day” signals a change, reversal, and an end. Fire both purifies and reveals 2. Discovery can only follow some amount of “waiting in darkness.” -You conquer the wicked as your leap toward God. 3. Continue patiently in the time of God’s promises where you currently find yourself. Horeb / Sinai: Great and Awe-Inspiring / Fearful: “The Day of the Lord” 4. Before just punishment (a “fearful” day), God will turn hearts home. Zech. 5:2-4 God will turn hearts to prevent utter destruction.
