Look Who’s Talking!: The Grace of Grabbing Our Attention
Job 38-39 1. The tug at the end of your leash is God’s guidance grabbing ahold of you. -Who are you talking to? (v. 1) -Who is talking (v. 2) -What do you think will happen? (v. 3) 2. Spiritual mischief (and destruction) is caused by our failure (and refusal) to recognize that God is God and we are not. 3. A healthy “low” view of self comes from a healthy “high” view of God. 4. The voice of God inspires respect, awe, and wonder. Notice how the poetic presentation of God‘s grandeur moves us from the reestablishment of a proper fear in what feels like a confrontation to the reestablishment of a proper wonder in what feels like an education! 5. Praise God for his mighty works! -Be faithful in private and public worship. -Be devoted to God in practical labors. -Be serious about the business of leisure time. -God will get your attention. -Who is allowed to come into his presence?
