Healing is a Sign of Forgivable Sins
Matthew 12:22-32 A. Repeated miracles become routine. 1. When Jesus shows his power, we worship by the word. ἐξίσταντο, existanto The people are amazed along the line of God’s word. Are your expectations shaped by the Bible? B. The promises and fulfillment about Jesus are sweeter and more astounding than anything else you will see on this earth. 1Chr. 28:2-3; Heb. 9:11-12 2. Sin uses stupidity to avoid clear conclusions. 3. The gentle Savior knows and exposes your thoughts. Our thoughts are not known by all, but they are known by one, God. The Holy Spirit takes the strong man’s “treasures.” Col. 2:13-15 4. Following Jesus can be nothing other than total. Following Jesus will cost you everything in a world that has far less to gain you everything in a world that has much more. What is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? i. It is related directly to the new kingdom age. ii. It is calling the Holy Spirit’s work to gather of people around Jesus to be the Devil’s work. Ponder the “forgivable sins.”
