Colossians 1:13-14 1. We have been delivered from a system of painful power. “guilt and grip” We have been delivered from the actual guilt of the record of sin and the grip of the Devil’s authority to prosecute our sin—the action is completed in that sense. power/ exousia : only so much power from within my domain 2. Do not despair at darkness. 3. You have a new position in Christ. 1Cor. 1:30-31 The identity of the citizens is based on the identity of the king. Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 17:5; Eph. 1:5-6 God will not give up the glory of the Beloved, and he will not give you up either. 4. Redemption is in the person of Christ and from the guilt of sin. Mic. 6:3-4; John 8:34 5. Gazing on Christ fuels fruit and faithfulness.
