Obedience-from-Faith Makes a Beloved Servant
Romans 1:1-7 Who am I? What is my status and stature? 1. You are a servant in the household of Christ Jesus. doulos: evangelion: 2. When it comes to your servanthood, your sending, and your being set apart, God is fulfilling ancient promises and plans for you and for the world. Paul presents proofs and power to hold up the name and nature of Jesus: -Words of Prophecy -Kingly Descent -Divine Sonship -Spirit Power -Resurrection With every box checked, we declare Jesus, the Messiah, our Lord. Kyrios: 3. Salvation accomplished through Jesus, salvation applied through Jesus. He gives grace and a “mission” (apostleship) with a result that faith would take hold and give rise to obedience among all peoples. 4. God calls you out to include you in Jesus. In Christ, you are beloved and you receive God’s grace. kaleo: In Christ your identity is Beloved and Favored.
