“Once Enemy, Now Family”
Proverbs: Friends and Family 1. Your wisdom is the greatest gift to give your parents. (10:5; 11:29; 13:1; 17:25; 20:11; 22:6; 22:15; 29:15) Learning and loving happen first in the home. Discipline is love because it looks for the other’s good. (13:24; 19:18; 19:27; 29:17) 2. Your love of God is the greatest gift to give your family. (14:11; 14:26; 20:7; 22:1) 3. The stakes are higher when people are closer. (18:19; 28:24; 15:17; 17:1; 17:6; 23:15; 23:16; 23:17; 23:18; 23:22; 19:13; 30:11; 30:17; 31:1-3) 4. Friendship is a choice you must make in others’ favor. (14:20; 14:21; 18:24; 19:4; 19:7; 21:10; 27:10) Which of these proved neighbor? (11:12; 11:25; 12:26; 14:10) 5. Avoid the influence of bad friendship. (22:24; 22:25) 6. Words mean more from strangers and friends. (27:2; 27:6; 27:9) 7. Your Savior befriends sinners and makes his enemies family. (19:17; 22:28; 23:10; 23:11)
