"Giving: from the Heart and for God"

Matthew 6:1-4 1. You underestimate the effect of others’ eyes. The question is not whether we know such simple advice but whether we are able to beware the warning when something seems so common sense. 2. Don’t calibrate and calculate how many people will see at all! Do you plan and scheme and schedule to do more and more things in the presence of more and more people? 3. You are and ever will be seeking a reward from someone. Do you truly love God for who he is or what you can get out of him? “And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there. The gospel is not a way to get people to heaven; it is a way to get people to God. It's a way of overcoming every obstacle to everlasting joy in God. If we don't want God above all things, we have not been converted by the gospel.” ― John Piper 4. Seek rewards—the very best rewards. 5. Prepare yourself to give but not others to be impressed. 6. Love God for who he is and not just for the things he gives you! The paradox of the Christian life is that you will have the greatest joy and satisfaction on earth when you store up every treasure in heaven.
