Job 18-19
1. Work on your strategies and skills of thinking and persuasion for the sake of Christ.
How you think and talk just is part of your sanctification.
Do not charge someone with “special pleading” when they are just actually pleading.
Thanks be to God, our Savior both speaks and thinks in such a perfect way and accommodates our own weaknesses in communicating with him.
2. The wicked fail; not every failure traces to one wicked deed.
“Two things can be true at the same time.”
Don’t be afraid to “harden your holy hide.”
I Know That My Redeemer Lives!
3. The words are not mere letters because of the Redeemer.
Because the redeemer lives, he will know all things (exemplified in “ permanent words”) and he will vindicate.
4. My life is not an empty vapor because of the Redeemer.
The Redeemer will live as I die (and when I am dead).
5. My body is not a mere decomposing cluster because of the Redeemer.
The Redeemer “buys back” the shame and makes it glory, buys back the pain and makes it pleasure, buys back the sorrow and makes it joy!
